HOW TO WATCH MOVIES
The only video file types that the TouchPad will play out of the box are MPEG-4, H.263, and H.264.
KalemSoft Media Player is the only app I've found that plays most any standard media type (avi, divx, xvid, wmv, wma, mkv, etc.) It will play directly from the device or stream from any PC with KalemSoft Media Streaming installed. Tried it out earlier today and the speed/quality of streaming video is pretty decent, even running wireless to my PC. You can also live stream from any webcam on the installed PC, so maybe check in on your house or spouse when you're away.
KalemSoft Media Player is $5.99 through http://kalemsoft.com or $6.99 through the HP App Catalog (in case you don't want to hassle with downloading it to a PC and transferring to/installing on TouchPad)

Online rep says that the price changes online will not be live until Sunday (8/21).
Another Online Rep checked stock at most of the stores within 100 miles of me and none had any 16gb or 32gb left in stock, most were sold to online orders for in-store pickup earlier in the day.
Got the 'Not Available for Pickup' email on my two separate store orders so I called. Rep said "Sorry all I can do is cancel your order, sorry". online said it was in stock.
Update: Best Buy just changed availability for both models to out of stock online.
BB.COM Price Matching
Called 1888BESTBUY to request a price match after ordering from bb.com using pickup from store. Rep said that they have been getting calls all day but they can't even see the SKU because it has been marked as "discontinued" so can't price match like the BB community post said. Said I would have to talk to the store when I pick it up.
Also, if you are on the east coast, you might be able to see the item "IN STOCK" at a particular store but once you order it, it needs to be "confirmed" by the store. Since all east coast stores are closed, none will be confirmed. Some are receiving "Item not found at the store" emails after order confirmation. So BB is getting hit with online orders... all east coast stores might not be able to fulfill them tomorrow. I just canceled.

HP Small Business ordering tips
For those trying to order from HP Small Business I recommend using the Firefox addon Check4Change on the error message and then having it refresh ever second! I got through a LOT faster than when I was trying to manually refresh the site.
When my cart finally loaded it was empty even though it had the Touchpad in it before clicking View Cart & Checkout.

Many users (including myself, GaiaGeek) had the best luck with Opera (even after trying the Firefox + Check4Change tip). Where other browsers (tried Chrome, Firefox and IE) seem to quickly show the "Microsoft VBScript compilation error", Opera seems to be a little more patient and waits for data, which allows the page to actually load. Iphone safari worked for me, as hinted earlier it is much more patient for loading. It needed couple of forward and backward iterations but when the cart was loaded it went through smoothly.
Important note: At the final stages when you submit the order, if you get a VBScript error but the URL has changed to one containing "hp.com/dstore/dcart/ssl/confirmed.asp" then the order has been submitted, and you should NOT try to refresh the page at this stage, as it could cause multiple orders. This isn't 100% fact, just my experience. I got to this point and received only one charge on my credit card.
Also, note that if you order through HP Small Business, you pay hefty shipping (~$20) PLUS tax. The main Touchpad page shows "FREE SHIPPING" so it's possible we can get the shipping refunded later (though this may mean waiting on hold with HP for a long time given the situation).

I placed 3 orders using 2 different accounts (Using Code 2727), first account with only 1 order on 1 unit using the $30 off will be shipped out tomorrow, received email confirmation today around 11am. Using the second account, placed my second order on 1 unit with paper using the $30 off cancelled (Was in processing status). In store the price will ring up at $599.99 **edit by Ruprick: some Walmarts ring up the discounted price without the need for intervention from a manager. Mine did in Podunk, Washington**
They do not price match their website as their policy clearly says.
HOWEVER, ask the manager to check their new "markdown" list for electronics.
The price shows up on their list for the department managers to mark down. Most managers are not in until Monday morning though. So, ask them if they can process the markdown for the department. They can then adjust the store system to show the corrected price at $149.00 (32Gb version) and it will ring up at $149.00.

It doesn't break SD rules to call to ask about price adjustment policy. It's not as if this is a price mistake/taking advantage/tipping the department off of anything.

On a related note, the USB cords are hit and miss. My friend bought 2 TP's and only one cable would work. I also bought two and the one I have opened won't charge with the included cable. Used an old cable I had lying around, charges fine.
